Now Offering Robotic-Assisted Total Knee Replacement

Posted on May 23, 2017

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System (MHHS) and Dr. David Robins of East Tennessee Center for Orthopaedic Excellence are now offering OMNIBotics™, an advanced robotic treatment option for total knee replacement. This innovative robotic-assisted total knee replacement solution is designed to relieve the pain caused by joint degeneration due to osteoarthritis. More than 6,000 OMNIBotics procedures have been performed to date.

OMNIBotics provides Dr. Robins with a robotic-assisted technology that allows for preoperative planning to customize the procedure for replacement of the patient’s knee, and intra-operative adjustments to optimize knee implant alignment. There is no need for a preoperative CT scan or MRI due to the patented OMNIBotics Bone Morphing™ technology. This allows Dr. Robins to perform “virtual” surgery on this digital model before any bone is cut. Dr. Robins maintains control and makes all decisions regarding the total knee replacement while providing a customized, patient-specific surgery. OMNIBotics also allows for a less invasive surgical technique.

“Our goal is to provide our patients with the best technology and treatment options available
in the region. We are excited to welcome Dr. David Robins to the MHHS team.” – Gordon Lintz,
President, MHHS.
