It’s Meet the Staff Monday and today we are getting to know April Clark, RN.
Name: April Clark
Job Title: Cardiovascular Services RN II
How long have you worked at Morristown-Hamblen/Covenant Health? It will be 20 years on April 13th of this year.
What are your goals in working at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System? When I first started, I was in the Star RN program and assisted multiple departments. When the program ended, I stayed in IMC. Then Critical and ICU. I originally started at MHHS with my focus being in Oncology, here I was able to broaden my nursing skills in different directions. There isn’t a day that I don’t learn something new.
If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be? Oprah. I think she has a ton to say about life, living, and moving forward.
What is your favorite food? A big steak, Ribeye.
What is your favorite TV show? The Big Bang Theory
What is your greatest accomplishment? Going back to school in my mid-30s to get my Nursing degree. It was hard, but I did it.
Would you choose a free trip or money? It depends on where I’m going! If it’s just to Johnson City, then I’ll take the cash.
What is your favorite childhood memory? I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina in a big family. I had a mentally challenged brother who was a year and a half younger than me. I really was close to him, and spending time with the family was always fun. My dad traveled for work and I remember every Sunday going to the airport to drop him off. I had a great childhood.
