Elma was our March 2020 volunteer of the month.

What area(s) do you volunteer? CCU waiting room and various areas

Why did you choose to volunteer at Morristown-Hamblen? Really it seemed like a good place and choice for me. I am currently finishing up my Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and I know I’m in the right place to get some experience.

Where are you from? The Philippines and then came to Anchorage, Alaska. I have been living in Morristown for over five years.

What is a random fact or talent about yourself? I love to cook and sing.

If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be? My mom, to let her know how much I miss her and let her know of my accomplishments.

What is your favorite food? Rice noodles

What is your favorite TV show or movie? The Rule of Engagement

What is your greatest accomplishment? Being a mom and stepmom

Would you choose a free trip or money? Free trip to visit my hometown in the Philippines

What is your favorite childhood memory? I loved spending time with my cousins and siblings. We used to hang out by the beach which was just a five-minute walk from my aunt’s house. We always had a blast!
