The Critical Care Unit (CCU) is a special department within the hospital that provides intensive treatment medicine. The CCU caters to patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses and injuries, which require constant, close monitoring and support from specialized equipment and medications. The unit is staffed by doctors and nurses who have special training and certifications to provide care for critically ill patients.

Guidelines for Patients and Loved Ones in Our Critical Care Center
In order for our patients to conserve their strength and receive care without interruption, we ask that family members and other visitors adhere to the following visiting hours and guidelines—
Patients in the CCU cannot receive live flowers or balloons, because the allergens can affect their recovery. A great way to send your thoughts to a loved one in our CCU is by sending an electronic greeting card. These cards are delivered daily by hospital volunteers.
We ask that patients’ belongings (clothing, electronics, valuables, etc.) be taken home with the family when the patient is admitted to our unit. Not only will this help keep personal belongings safe, it also helps our staff keep the surrounding environment clean and safe for our patients.
If possible, please designate one person from your family to serve as the primary point-of-contact for updates and communication about your loved one’s care. If you’re calling our unit for an update about your loved one, please be prepared to provide your PIN for the patient to receive any information.
