What area(s) do you volunteer: JBC Gift Shop
Why did you choose to volunteer at Morristown-Hamblen? My husband was the Chaplain for several years and I had worked as a lab tech for 30 years in other hospitals. Therefore I chose a hospital to give back for all the blessings I have had in my life.
Where are you from? Abingdon, VA
What is a random fact or talent about yourself? I have always said my smile is my talent and a sense of humor! It has served me well.
If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be? My mother. She passed away in 1995 and being an only child, we were close.
What is your favorite food? Mint Chocolate Ice Cream
What is your favorite TV show or movie? The Young and the Restless – I started watching it over 30 years ago. Then I felt “young” and “restless” and now I am sorry to say I am “old” and “settled.”
What is your greatest accomplishment? Being a mother
Would you choose a free trip or money? A trip to Ireland
What is your favorite childhood memory? I love horses and my grandfather always let me ride his big, work horses when I visited. Their backs were so broad and I was so little I rode bare back and my legs would stick out on each side. One day we were watering the cows and something scared the horse. He jumped and I fell into the creek. Came up muddy and crying!
