MAPLE Award Recipient – Michelle Orrick

Posted on November 30, 2021

At Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System (MHHS), we honor our staff who provide extraordinary care with The MAPLE Award, a locally created recognition program that celebrates the compassion and skills our staff bring to patients and families every day. Michelle Orrick was our October Maple Award Recipient.

Michelle works in environmental services as a housekeeper on the 4th floor. She has worked at MHHS for two years and she lives in Rutledge, TN. “I have always loved to clean,” she said. “My inspiration for what I do every day is to help people and maintain my goal of preventing any infections to occur.”

She worked hard to obtain her GED. Michelle said cleaning comes natural to her and she is happy she is able to do something she loves.

When asked what her greatest accomplishment was, she said her family. “I enjoy being with my family. I know whatever we have to go through, my village is strong,” said Michelle.

Receiving the MAPLE award was a surprise for Michelle. She got emotional during her presentation and said “It’s so nice to be recognized for what you do.”
